Batch Receiving is a process whereby you receive information through an EDI advance shipment notification (ASN) about a shipment that has been shipped by your vendor and is now in transit.

Benefits

  • Product that is in transit from the vendor, is visible to manufacturing, receiving and purchasing.

  • Quantities in an in transit disposition are viewed by Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) as unavailable quantities.

  • Receiving transactions are automatically received into the PRMS system, eliminating the keying of receiving transactions.

  • Eliminates or reduces data processing errors created by the manual entry of receiving transactions.

  • Mass disposition movement can be performed for in transit receivers, as well as regular receiving transactions.

Features

  • Automatic assignment of lot numbers.

  • Maintenance programs give the user the tools they need to edit or correct data transmitted through EDI.

  • System assigns a receipt in transit number (RIT) to each receiver flagged as in transit.

  • Receipt In transit Maintenance and Mass Disposition Update allow the user to select additional receiving transaction for mass disposition movement.
