Batch Receiving

Batch Receiving is a process whereby you receive information through an EDI advance shipment notification (ASN) about a shipment that has been shipped by your vendor and is now in transit.

Benefits:

·   Product that is in transit from the vendor, is visible to manufacturing, receiving and purchasing.
·   Quantities in an in transit disposition are viewed by Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) as unavailable quantities.
·   Receiving transactions are automatically received into the PRMS system, eliminating the keying of receiving transactions.
·   Eliminates or reduces data processing errors created by the manual entry of receiving transactions.
·   Mass disposition movement can be performed for in transit receivers, as well as regular receiving transactions.

Features:

·  Automatic assignment of lot numbers.
·   Maintenance programs give the user the tools they need to edit or correct data transmitted through EDI.
·   System assigns a receipt in transit number (RIT) to each receiver flagged as in transit.
