User Defined File Additions

       

Five user-defined files were introduced in PRMS version 9.0. They were created for use with the maintenance systems for Product Master, Warehouse Master, Warehouse Inventory, Bin (Location) Master, and Lot Master. 

Version 9.1 adds user-defined files for Customer Master, Ship-to Master, Vendor Master, Order Type, and User Profiles. 

There are new application servers to handle the update of these new files. The servers are called from the user defined file maintenance program, MS0848. This program is not accessible from a menu, but is called via a command key (F17) from the primary file maintenance program. 

Benefits:

·    Allows client to add data that is important to their environment without modifying the PRMS file structure. 
·   Protects custom programming investment. Use PRMS provided user files and fields for making custom mods.
·   Reserves these fields for user specified requirements and eliminates the need to redesignate PRMS files that may be changed in future versions. This will also simplify upgrade conversions.

Features: 

·   Five new companion user defined master files are created for use with PRMS master files.
·   Five new application servers are also added.
·   Each of the new files contains the following alpha fields: 2 fields at 15 characters, 2 fields at 30 characters, 2 fields at 10 characters, and 4 fields at 1 character.
·   Each of the new files contains the following numeric fields: 2 fields at 7.2, 2 fields at 15.0, and 2 fields at 21.9.
