Code Type Enhancements

        

The addition of universal user (*ALL) capability enhances the code type maintenance program, MS0840. In the past every user profile authorized to perform that function was added individually. This enhancement allows you to enter a *ALL value in the user profile field enabling anyone to perform that function. 

Another change was to eliminate the need to set security before you do a work with code values, option 12 in MS0840. The program now assumes that if you have access to this program you should have access to every code listed within it. 

Anyone using the code ID maintenance program, MS0843, will still need to have the security defined prior to performing any maintenance.

Benefits:

·   Less maintenance and added flexibility are gained when using the *ALL option. Individual users are no longer required to be added and maintained in this file. 

Features: 

·   For Code Type Maintenance (MS0840) the system has been modified to accept a *ALL in the user profile field allowing anyone to maintain that code using the code ID maintenance program, MS0843.
·   Anyone with access to code type maintenance, MS0840, can maintain any of the codes without first setting up any security values.
